Shattered Lands Broken Men
The Gehan Empire long occupied Eber for its rich ore deposits and dense agriculture. The resources exploited from the peninsula went a long way towards supplying the Gehans on their many other fronts to the west. The Gehan are a polytheist society intent on ensuring its colonies integrate with their assimilate culture. Eber held to a “True God”, even during their near 200 year occupation. It was prophesied by the clergy that God would send amongst them one to bring a “New People”.
The people of Eber, clinging to their traditional beliefs, rejected the many Gehan gods and yearned for their independence. About 400 years ago, Hacon Neven I, came to influence as the militant lead for the “True God”. He led Eber against the Gehans, succeeding in restoring Eber independence, credited as fulfilling prophecy. He was named King of a new theocracy, his heirs considered gods embodiment.
The people becoming known as Nevenease fought back many attempts of the Gehans to reconquer their land.
